Robert “Bob” Lee Riedesel, Jr., 73, succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his son’s home surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 20, 2019.

Bob was born in Stafford, AZ to Robert L. and Angeline J. Riedesel on March 4, 1946 and spent most of his life in Kansas City. He graduated from Washington High School. Bob served in the United States Army, Company B 169th Support Battalion. Retirement came after 42 years working for the Kansas Gas Service Company. Bob was a member of the Shawnee American Legion Post 327.

After retirement, his greatest joys were hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. If asked to describe him in three words, “Good Ole’ Boy” and was always willing to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his son, James(Sara), grandsons, Chase and Judd; son, Joseph(Kirsten), grandson, Maximus; brother, David Riedesel(Michelle); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, John; brother, Stanley; and his parents.

Bob’s request was cremation and a private burial at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorial donations can be sent to Asana Hospice, Kansas, 13002 State Line Road, Leawood, KS 66209.
