Gustavia Othelia Taylor Crompton was born to the union of Gus and Cora B. Taylor at Howell, AR on November 10, 1919. She passed peacefully at home November 28, 2020. She lived to be 101.
Gustavia married Edison Crompton on December 30, 1943.  Together, they opened their hearts, home and resources to nurturing family and friends. Gustavia united with Greater Pentecostal Temple, Kansas City, KS. Failing health greatly limited her active participation Gustavia was fastidious concerning her appearance and conduct. She wore the title “Miss Fine” with pride. All that knew her will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, grace and unselfish love.
Gustavia was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jasper and Hardy Taylor, a sister April Taylor and husband.  Surviving brothers and sisters are Ruby Davis and Clinton Taylor of Memphis, TN; Thelma Brown and Clifton Taylor of Chicago, Il; Ronnie Taylor of Leesburg, FL and Cora Owens of Merriam KS. She is survived by a host of family and friends near and far. Visitation will begin Wednesday, December 9, 2020, 1:00 pm and services will begin at 1:30 pm at the Kansas City Funeral Directors Chapel. Masks and social distance is required. Due to current Covid restrictions the service is private but it will be live streamed via Facebook so all that would like to attend can without risk.
