Diana Marie (Kamer) Wiechen, 70, was born October 18, 1950 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, KS, to Albert and Florence (Richardson) Kamer. She passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021, holding her husband's hand, and with family by her side.

After graduating from Hayden Catholic High School in 1969, Diana began working at the Topeka VA Medical Center. There she met the love of her life, Robert Wiechen. On June 1, 1973, the two wed, and were inseparable for nearly 48 years. Their love for each other is one that we all strive for and admire.

Quick with a hug and a smile, Diane was a light to many. She found comfort in Christ, becoming a Godly servant as a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she loved teaching children's Sunday School. She believed that one should do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility, while counting others more significant than oneself. She lived by this every day of her life, making certain that all knew they could find comfort in her presence.

Diane was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and great-great aunt. But to many, she was everything. She will forever be loved and missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Florence (Richardson) Kamer, sister
JoAnn (Kamer) Tompkins, and brother Edward "Ed" Kamer.

Diana is survived by her loving husband Robert Wiechen; two sons, Christopher Wiechen (Megan) and Andrew Wiechen (Casey Jo); and two grandchildren, Zaden and Mikaela. All reside in Topeka.

To the nurses and caregivers at Interim HealthCare Hospice and Aldersgate Village Life Plan Community, on behalf of the family, thank you. We thank you all for your care, comfort, empathy and compassion that you provided Diana during this difficult time.

A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas. Due to the pandemic, a celebration of Diana's life will be held at a later date, when it is safer to get together.
