Ronald L. Kindle, known as “Ron” or “Ronnie” to all who knew him, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2022, in the care of his loving wife, Karen Kindle, at KC Hospice House.
He was born December 17, 1943, in Cross Timbers, Missouri, to Ethel Kindle and Helen (Crouch) Kindle.
In 1961, Ron graduated from Warsaw High School in Warsaw, Missouri. He then relocated to Oak Grove, MO, where he was employed at Union Pacific Railroad for a short time, prior to moving to Kansas City, Kansas, where he worked for General Motors for 32 years, retiring in 2000.
One of Ron’s favorite passions was cars…mostly old cars. After work and on weekends, he could always be found under the hood of a Chevy, a Pontiac or the occasional Ford. He would spend hours with his buddies, tearing cars and trucks apart, searching the city for parts, and rebuilding them. When he wasn’t working on a car, you could find him reading a western, watching NASCAR races or wrestling. He loved food, especially barbecue.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Dwayne. Survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen and his children: Rhonda Greer and her husband John of Kansas City, MO; Rodney Kindle and his wife Rende of Parkville, MO; Rance Kindle of Buckner, MO; Melinda Sturdevant and her husband Jason of Olathe, KS; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Celebration of Life service will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the Kansas City Funeral Directors, 4880 Shawnee Drive, Kansas City, Kansas 66106.
