Ronald James Newman, 78, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 4, 2018 surrounded by family.

Ron was born September 12, 1939 in Kenosha, Wisconsin where he spent his childhood, graduating high school and then attending Milwaukee School of Engineering. After moving to the Kansas City area, he met Susan McAuliffe and on July 17, 1982, they married. In 1985, they welcomed into their home a daughter, Meghan Elisabeth, and a son, Matthew Adam, in 1988.

Ronald spent much of his career as a system programmer working for Tension Envelope, National Envelope, Hewlett Packard and Oriental Trading. He was also actively involved volunteering with the IBM User Group, COMMON, and the RPG & DB2 Summit.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and boating.

We will remember him as a kind, caring man who would do anything to take care of his family. He will be missed more than he could imagine.
