Wanda Mae (Hendrickson) Babcock has departed to her heavenly home as a result of heart failure. She passed on Friday, July 17th, 2020 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born the first of three daughters, in Kansas City, Missouri on February 9th, 1949 to R.D.(Bud) and Rita Hendrickson Jr.

Wanda spent her early years in Austin, Texas, moving back to Kansas City while she was still young. When she was nine she started helping take care of her sisters and continued that level of caring throughout all of her years. She graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City, Missouri and then moved to Belton with her family. Wanda graduated from Longview Community College and worked at the Internal Revenue Service before she married at age thirty.

Wanda met James Babcock and enjoyed 41 years of marriage before he passed away in 2016. They had two children Jonathan and William in the years to follow. Wanda had the opportunity to raise her boys as a homemaker and be as involved as possible. She got to be a den mom, room mom, and even the neighborhood mom. She enjoyed collecting trinkets, knickknacks and loved celebrating holidays. Wanda had a passion for watching and discussing movies and news programs with her two best friends, her sisters.

Wanda’s death was preceded by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her sisters Willa and Kaye Hendrickson, son’s Jonathan (wife Alise) and William (wife Jessica) Babcock, and her grandson Wyatt Babcock.

There will be a visitation and funeral service Monday July 27th 2020 at Abundant Harvest Church in Kansas City, Kansas. Please contact immediate family if you wish to attend due to limited attendance requirements. Those attending must sign in with their name and phone number due to church regulations.
