 Frederick “Fred” Arthur Moore of Liberty, Missouri was born September 28, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana. His parents were William Joseph Moore and Audra Lavonne Wood Moore. He died of multiple complication from diabetes at home on September 4, 2020 at the age of 82 years and 11 months. Fred grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1956 he graduated from Roosevelt High School. He was a graduate of Culver-Stockton College in Canton Missouri. He received a Master of Divinity Degree from St. Paul Methodist Seminary in Kansas City Missouri. In 1966 he was dually ordained at the Community Church at Partridge, Kansas by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ.

Fred was united in marriage with Virginia “Ginger” Davis Moore on June 7, 1960 in First Christian Church in Waukegan, Illinois. To this unison two children were born: Deborah Moore Hertz and Kenneth Arthur Moore. Since 1958, Pastor Fred served United Church of Christ and Christian Churches (Disciple of Christ) in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska: open country, small town, city, suburb, and inner-city churches. He retired in 2005 and moved with Ginger to Liberty, Missouri where they built their retirement home. The Honor of Pastor Emeritus was given to him by the Schleswig United Church of Christ in 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph and Audra Lavonne Moore; Brother-In-Law Ted White. Rev. Fred Moore is survived by his wife, Ginger, of Liberty Missouri; by one daughter: Deborah “Deb” (Greg) Moore Hertz of Laurens, Iowa; and by one so: Kenneth “Ken” Arthur Moore of Pleasant Valley, Missouri; by four grandchildren: Matthew (Sarah) Hertz of Laurens, Iowa; Megan (Kurtis) Benningsdorf of Fonda, Iowa; Michael (Jessica) Hertz of Laurens, Iowa; and Morgan Brittany; by two great granddaughters: Reagan and Ashlynn and two more great grandchildren due this fall; by two sisters: Nancy Moore White of Walnut Creek, California and Mary (Jack) Weller of Baltimore, Maryland; by 7 nieces and 6 nephews; by the six children of deceased cousin “sister” Doris Wood Sullivan: Donald Butch, Mary, Christine, Frank and Lisa and by many other relatives and friends.

Due to COVID, private family services will be held at the Liberty Christian Church Liberty, Missouri. Interment will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri, next to Ginger’s Maternal grandparents, Samuel and Kate Hibbs and her brother Glen (Catherine) Davis.
