CATHLEEN C (HORVATIC) WILLIAMS

Cathleen C (Horvatic) Williams, 78 of Olathe, KS was reunited on August 17 with her true love Donald and all those who went home before her. She said goodbye to a daughter and son-in-law, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a brother and 2 sisters. The family is having a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Encompass Hospice, 14831 W 95th Street, Lenexa, KS 66215.

Gary Ayers Claxton, 74, of Kansas City, KS passed away on August 5, 2019. Private family services will be held in Iowa.

Gary was born in 1944 to Herbert and Mazel Claxton. He went to Shawnee Mission North and after graduation went on to the University of Kansas. At KU he was a member of the Fabulous Flippers. In 1987 Gary married Janet Stone. In 1997 they moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas where they lived for many years. In 2015 after his mother’s passing Gary and Janet moved to his childhood home in Roeland Park. Over the years Gary worked as a journalist and in the insurance business. He absolutely loved learning and working on computers. Gary never gave up on his music and enjoyed playing different venues over the years.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mazel Claxton; and stepson, John Marasco. He is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, Gary Christopher and Benjamin Claxton; stepson, Jamie Marasco; grandson, Justin Claxton; stepgranddaughter, Alexia Marasco; stepgrandson, Jacob Marasco; and many more family and friends. Gary was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Rosa “Rosi” Castrejon Alvarez, 63, of Bonner Springs, Kansas passed away on August 8, 2019 at her son’s home in Olathe, Kansas with her loving family by her side after an 8 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Visitation will be at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Kansas City Funeral Directors, 4880 Shawnee Drive, Kansas City, Kansas. Service will follow at 4:00 PM.

Rosa was born in 1955 to Angela Alvarez Ramos and Pedro Castrejon in Colorines, Mexico. She married Jorge Barrios and together they had two sons, Alberto and Marco. Rosa lived in Bonner Springs, KS with her husband, Jorge and son, Marco. In October of 2018 Rosa was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and by December she moved into her son Alberto’s home in Olathe so he and his wife, Amanda could care for her. Rosa was such a warrior and fought hard against her cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will deeply missed.

Rosa is survived by her husband, Jorge; son, Alberto & wife Amanda; son, Marco; grandsons, Andres & Alex; and granddaughter, Anna.

Antonio Soto Santillanes, 52, born in Chihuahua, Mexico. Passed away Thursday August 8th, 2019. Antonio is survived by his wife, Patricia Soto, Daughter Samantha Soto, 11 brothers and sisters and their families. Antonio was a devoted husband and father. He always made sure his family came first. He was a very strong person and fought until the end. Antonio was fighting ALS for the last 3 years. He married Patricia in 2000 and in 2003 his daughter was born. Antonio was a person anyone can count on. He will always share his life lessons with his daughter. He loved to dance and singed. He loved life. He was always making jokes. He loved watching movies, especially with his family. He will be deeply missed by everyone. “ I know you fought hard and I know it's for the best and I know that your resting in heaven with your mom and dad I love you papi” Samantha Soto “You were the best gift GOD gave me” Patricia Soto.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 12th from 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM at Kansas City Funeral Directors, 4880 Shawnee Drive, Kansas City, Kansas. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 13th at 11:00 AM at St. John The Evangelist, 2910 Strong Ave, Kansas City, KS.

Antonio Soto Santillanes, 52 años, nacido en Chihuahua, México. Falleció el jueves 8 de agosto de 2019. Antonio es sobrevivido por su esposa, Patricia Soto, su hija Samantha Soto, 11 hermanos y hermanas y sus familias. Antonio era un devoto esposo y padre. Siempre se aseguraba de que su familia llegara primero. Era una persona muy fuerte y luchó hasta el final. Antonio estuvo luchando contra la ALS durante los últimos 3 años. Se casó con Patricia en 2000 y en 2003 nació su hija. Antonio era una persona con la que cualquiera puede contar. Siempre compartirá sus lecciones de vida con su hija. Le encantaba bailar y cantar. Amaba la vida. Siempre hacía bromas. Le encantaba ver películas, especialmente con su familia. Será profundamente extrañado por todos. Geneva L. Hackler (Duensing) of Olathe, KS, passed away July the 27th at Olathe Health Hospice House. A Memorial will be held August the 16th from 3:30pm -6pm at Shawnee Presbyterian Church 6837 Nieman Road Shawnee KS, 66203. She was born in LaCygne, KS, on November the 26th of 1948. She is survived by her husband, Fred E. Hackler, three children - John Guge, Lisa Guge, and Mary Lubeski, her four grandchildren - Tyler, Camryn, Phoebe, and Keira, and four great grandchildren.

Isolina Morales Guzman passed away at her home in Olathe, Kansas on 5 August, 2019. Isolina was born July 17, 1957 in Barrio San Jose, Candelaria de la Frontera Depto. Santa Ana, El Salvador. She was the fifth of eight siblings born to her parents, Alberto De Jesus Morales and Josefina Guzman Morales.

In 1972, Isolina met her spouse, Jose Alcides Guerra Cerna in her very own hometown of Candelaria. They soon after welcomed their first child, Jose Alcides Cerna Jr. in 1976 followed by Natalia Isolina Cerna in 1978 and their last child in 1980, Evelyn Elizabeth Davis. Isolina and Jose started their family in Santa Ana, El Salvador. In 1987 Isolina and her husband agreed to immigrate to the United States, where they raised their three children, Jose, Natalia, and Evelyn. Isolina was a beloved grandmother to seven grandchildren with one on the way.

Lisa Dianne Bush, 61, Princeton, Kan., passed away on August 5, 2019 surrounded by family and friends. Lisa was born on July 13, 1958 in Kansas City, Kan., to Larry and Patricia (Lane) Bush. She grew up in Edwardsville, Kan., and raised her three children in Olathe, Kan. She received a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Kansas in 2001, and spent 14 years as a groundwater specialist.

All her life, Lisa loved working with textiles. While living in Olathe, Lisa was known for sewing uniforms for local schools' cheerleading squads, bands and choirs. For the last several years, Lisa owned a small business specializing in handmade goods, quilting and seamstressing. She was an expert craftsman, skilled in sewing, quilting, spinning, knitting, weaving and more. Her works of art are enjoyed by friends, family and patrons across the country.

Lisa spent her time with a broad network of friends. On any given day you could find her quilt shop hopping with the Stitchin’ Grannies or knitting with the Chicks with Sticks. She loved teaching others and passing along the art of her craft.

Lastly, Lisa held an unwavering belief in God. She was an avid student of Christianity and a member of Homewood Community Bible Church. She was a Deaconess and her service to the church included helping with Sunday morning programs and preparing communion.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Larry Bush, and nephew, Christiaan Bush. She is survived by her: three children, Jeremiah Bjorgaard (Olathe, Kan.), Jonathan (Jennifer) Bjorgaard (Louisburg, Kan.), and Jessica (Derrick) Crozier; two grandchildren, Riordan and Lachlan Bjorgaard; mother, Patricia Bush (Hagerstown, Md.); two sisters, Teresa (Kris) Kerby (Cummings, Kan.), and Amy Werner (Hagerstown, Md.); and five nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Homewood Community Bible Church, 1795 Idaho Rd, Williamsburg, KS 66095. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lisa’s name to Homewood Community Bible Church, or the Midwest Transplant Network.

Isolina Morales Guzman fallecio en su hogar en Olathe, Kansas el 5 de Agosto, 2019. Isolina nacio el 17 de Julio, 1957 en el Barrio San Jose, Calenaria de la Frontera Depto. Santa Ana, El Salvador. Ella fue la numero cinco de ocho hermanos de sus padres, Alberto De Jesus Morales and Josefina Guzman Morales.

En 1972, Isolina concio a su esposo, Jose Alcides Guerra Cerna en su ciudad natal de Candelaria. Pronto dieron la bienvenida a su primer hijo, Jose Alcides Cerna Jr. en 1976 seguido por Natalia Isolina Cerna en 1978 y la ultima hija en 1980, Evelyn Elizabeth Davis. Isolina y Jose empezaron su familia en Santa Ana, El Salvador. En 1987 Isolina y su esposo decidieron ir a Estados Unidos donde criaron a sus tres hijos, Jose, Natalia, y Evelyn. Isolina fue la amada abuela de siete nietos y uno en su camino.
